Hi there! This post couldn't be written much better! Reading through this post reminds me of my previous roommate! He always kept talking about this. I'll send this information to him. Pretty sure he'll have a good read. Thanks for sharing!

Tony

I recently tried to watch the Amazing documentary, "Cosmos" online only to find out that it has been taken out of the public domain due to copyright issues. I was shocked that such a wonderful creation would be treated like a piece of merchandise as I am sure that was not the original intent of the author since it first aired on PBS.

It is a shame that we have put a price on the universe.

CONCERNING: Your new COSMOS series & the ELECTRIC UNIVERSE THEORY

Dear Ms. Druyan,

I'm a big enthusiast of your work and vision on the original COSMOS. When I heard that you, Mr. Tyson, and Mr. MacFarlane were updating the COSMOS series, I nearly cried. Seeing the whole series online, I dreamed of what it must have been like to see it back then and on the first run. The series still inspires and holds up pretty well as I'm sure you'll agree.

Anyhow, since you are all endeavoring so hard to update the science, I thought I might suggest taking a serious look at the Thunderbolts Project and their work on the ELECTRIC UNIVERSE THEORY. Are you aware of this theory? It is fairly new to me, though the work supporting it goes back to the age of Tesla. To me, a curious and open minded laymen, the evidence seems sound, and the simple elegance of the theory feels right. The implications of this theory are rather mind blowing and would cause a consciousness shift in how we perceive the Universe and its workings, just as awareness of the spherical Earth enlightened nations still in the dark ages!

I kindly request that you take the time afforded out of your surely busy schedule, and watch this video from the THUNDERBOLTS PROJECT:

I also highly recommend the Electric Comet: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34wtt2EUToo&feature=c4-overview-vl&list=PLwOAYhBuU3UfvhvcT1lZA6KbSdh0K2EpH

This theory, in my opinion, solves many questions, and raises many more. Questions I'm sure your husband would have loved to consider and explore.

If any of this resonates with you, than surely it is paramount that it be included in your new COSMOS series. It's time to really re-write the history / science text books, don't you think?

And if you could, please point me in the right direction, if I am mislead in my belief.
Many thanks, and happy Holidays!

Sincerely,

-Rikhael Burns-

Ann,
Having just returned from the snow-covered Sierras, where the skies beckoned brightly each night with Saganesque intensity, I was delighted my DVR captured the first episode of the new Cosmos. What a wonderful, much deserved tribute it is to Carl! And it was so touching to see glimpses of him in the new series, a poignant reminder of how spellbound millions of us were when he came before us each Sunday night to unravel the perplexities of science. One can only imagine a new generation viewers, especially youngsters, finding contemporary inspiration. One can certainly hope! Though he admits he won’t try stepping into Carl shoes - Who could? They were seven league boots! - Neil Tyson is a worthy successor, distinctively gifted in his own right. And I’m sure it would have pleased Carl, having inspired the teen-aged Neil, to have him at the helm of that new spaceship of the imagination. Thank you, thank you, Ann, and all your colleagues for compelling us once again to flick on the TV each Sunday evening.
